Amerstia Nobilis Wall or Pride of Burma is an evergreen tree with a wide spreading canopy, considered to be one of the most beautiful flowering trees in the world, its flowers and leaves are sometimes eaten. Extremely rare in the wild, but cultivated in botanical gardens in tropical areas. This image was originally published in Belgium in the year 1863 by Berthe van Nooten, as one of a series of forty Southeast Asian botanical lithographs depicting fruits and flowers.
